The Music Video Genome works in a familiar way; type in the name of the band or artist that you are interested in, and the service will create a custom ‘channel’ that contains music videos from the artist you entered as well as others that sound similar, or that it thinks you would like.
This service uses YouTube (obviously) as well as Last.fm in order to do what it does. It also uses a service called VHX, created by the same developers, in order to bookmark and/or save your favorite videos. What I like about it is that it keeps things simple, with music videos streamed back to back across the entire browser window. Like Pandora, it’s the sort of thing you can fire up and forget about, knowing you will be served music you will like all day long.
I really like ‘Music Video Genome’, and I think you will to. Check it out for yourself.
